DEEP CONCERNS ABOUT AKP GOVERNMENT'S
"DOMESTIC SECURITY BILL"!
Nils Muiznieks, the Commissioner for Human Rights, of the European Council expressed deep concerns about the AKP's proposed ''Domestic Security Bill".
He said that the excessive use of force by the Turkish police is already creating Human Rights violations. Instead of dealing with this problem, the AKP Government is proposing to give even more powers to Turkish police, without adequate controls and accountability. If enacted, this Bill will lead to even more Human Rights violations. These basic rights may include "right to live, freedom of expression, and right to engage in peaceful demonstrations".
As Atatürk Society of America, we are also deeply concerned about the proposed "Domestic Security Bill". If approved by the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), this Bill would transform Turkey into a Police State.

AKP'NİN "İÇ GÜVENLİK YASASI" BÜYÜK ENDİŞE UYANDIRIYOR!
Avrupa Konseyi İnsan Haklarıi Komiseri Nils Muiznieks, yaptığı yazılı açıklamada,
AKP'nin TBMM'ye sunduğu "İç Güvenlik Yasasından" büyük endişe duyduğunu belirtti.
"AKP Hükümeti polisin aşırı güç kullanımı sonucu yarattığı insan hakları ihlallerinin üstune gitmek yerine, hiç bir bağımsiz ve etkili kontrol mekanizması kurmadan, polisin yetkilerini daha da artırmak istiyor. Bu durum "yaşama hakkı, konuşma hakkı, toplu gösteri hakkı" gibi temel insan haklarının ihlaline yol açacaktır."
Amerika Atatürk Derneği olarak, bizler de bu "İç Güvenlik Yasası"na şiddetle karşıyız. Eğer TBMM'de onaylanırsa, bu yasa Türkiyeyi bir Polis Devleti haline dönüştürecektir.
